Guardian Air
We are grateful to all who have offered prayers and words of support in this difficult time. It’s true that one’s spirit can soar through times of grief. To our extended family in the air medical industry, medical facilities, fire services, EMS, and law enforcement agencies -- we are lifted by your solidarity, your steadfast friendship and your comfort. We look beyond this dark time to better days ahead serving the community and ongoing friendships.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
A memorial service for the victims of the June 29, 2008 accident in Flagstaff involving Guardian Air and Classic Lifeguard was held Tuesday, July 8 2008. The ceremony was at the Pine Mountain Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill County Park, in Flagstaff.
Guardian Air, a division of Flagstaff
Medical Center, is an emergency air ambulance company. We provide
24-hour, seven-day-a-week helicopter and airplane service to the state
of Arizona, the Southwest region and the Native American Nations.
Guardian Air believes that each flight mission is as individual as the
patient. As patient care providers, we work cooperatively with other
departments and facilities to deliver optimal patient care.
The medical flight team includes registered nurses, respiratory
therapists and paramedics who are under the direction of four licensed
medical directors. Crewmembers are required to maintain a high
level of fitness to respond to scene and hospital-to-hospital transports
around the clock. The team is cross-trained to provide specialty care
for adult, pediatric, maternal and neonatal patients. They also are
skilled in the management of advanced airway ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and isolettes.
Guardian Air operates a dedicated 800 telephone line for physician
and/or referring parties to request transport services. A communication
specialist/transport coordinator is available at all times to initiate a
mission, serve as mission control, broadcast information, coordinate
transport and flight following.
Three pressurized fixed-wing airplanes and three emergency medical service
helicopters, equipped with night vision goggles, provide facility-to-facility transports and on-scene
response throughout Arizona,
as well as long distance transports to various regions of the United States.
Each year, Guardian Air responds to approximately 3,000
calls for service.
